THE CASTLE AND THE ESTATE
The Estate
Castello Alidosi is a charming historic residence, originally conceived as a hunting lodge and private retreat, nestled within a 20-hectare estate and built upon the ruins of an ancient medieval fortress, the remains of which can still be admired scattered throughout the grounds. The imposing ruins of the castle’s tower overlook what is now the inner courtyard of the estate, holding stories and echoes of a rich history.
This corner of paradise offers a rare blend of classic elegance and modern comfort, featuring spacious and refined halls, cozy and welcoming bedrooms, a luxurious spa, and a spectacular infinity pool overlooking the Bolognese Apennines.
The courtyards and gardens surrounding the castle offer an almost 360° panoramic view over the lush Santerno Valley, creating an atmosphere of unparalleled peace and tranquility. It is the perfect place for those seeking a haven of intimacy, far from the hustle and bustle of daily life, where one can reconnect with nature and rediscover the joy of silence and unspoiled beauty.

The History of the Castle
Villa Alidosi is embellished by the ruins of the first residence of the Alidosi, a family that lived for over two centuries in the fortress called "il Castellaccio" and had its own fief from Emperor Otto IV in 1209, remaining lords of Castel del Rio for over four centuries. The Municipality of Castel del Rio has its roots in a distant history, indelibly marked by this family that left a mark here that is still clearly visible today in the monuments, in the buildings and in the local community that is still called Alidosiana.
The Territory
